Text-to-Movie (Bahnsen / Stein Debate)

There's this really neat web site that lets you create little dialogue scripts, and then it creates a video from the script. For example, here's one I did of a portion of the Bahnsen / Stein debate "Does God Exist?"

I thought some of you might find this technology interesting and be able to do something interesting with…

The Necessity of Belonging to the Body

Someone on SGP recently said:

" I totally understand your feelings regarding continuing attendance at

your current church. I'm in a similar boat. With all the great preterist

teachings on-line, I don't feel the need to attend our local church,

but I do, out of respect for my still-futurist husband. "

I don't have the time to develop this now, but I need to point out the danger of the above sentiment before the opportunity slips by. The above betrays a very… Continue

Common Era? Sam?

The other day I finished reading Sam Frost's excellent article (on Reign of Christ) "Hosean Allusions in 1 Cor. 15". I found it very valuable, but was extremely put off at the end, when he said something about "70 C.E." instead of calling it "70 A.D.".

It seems to me that the push to use BCE/CE (Before Common Era / Common Era) instead of BC/AD (Before Christ / Anno Domini - the year of our Lord) is coming from unbelieving academics. I also find it interesting that JW's use the BCE/CE… Continue

I guess I wanted to join while remaining fairly incognito. A while ago I set up a "google alert" which sends me messages when it sees stuff with "preterism" mentioned. A lot of those pointed to SGP, and then it turned out you needed to be a member to get very far here, so I joined. I've listened to a bunch of ROCM podcasts, and all the preterism-related Covenant Radio broadcasts -- before CR went bad. (One really wonders what happened. Listening to the one with Sam Frost, there really seemed to be a desire to have discussion taking place. What happened? Oh, well.) I wouldn't call myself a full preterist, but I am pretty sympathetic, and studying.

The picture is a bottle of Westvleteren 12, generally acknowledged as one of the best beers in the world, from the country with the finest brewing tradition -- Belgium.

Jeff,

What city in BC? BTW, how long have you been a preterist and what was the convincing proof that pushed you over the edge? How'd you find the site? Sorry for the inquisition but we like to know something about those who join. Sorry but one more question, what's the significance of the bottlecap? Blessings, Chuck
