- Thank you Laurie. I guess I have been a preterist for 4 to 5 years now. As a kid I grew up sweatin' the rapture, sweatin' armaegeddon and sweatin' the Second Coming. The churches I attended were not clear on what they believed about the end times. They only taught us to be ready, as it could happen at any time. Thief in the Night, Hal Lindsey, Left Behind caused more anxiety. I married my wife, whose parents are waiting for it all to go down soon. We moved to a new neighborhood where on average , once a month,Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons would come knocking on my door selling their version of the future. I didn't know why I believed in dispensationalism , confusing as it was taught to me, so I googled" The Second Coming "on the internet and lo and behold , I see a heading with a word I had never heard before... PRETERISM. To make a long story short, my confusion turn to anger and resentment for wasting time , emotions , future plans on Futurism , but God quickly changed the anger and resentment to sheer gladness. My children will not go through the same mess I went through to get the Gospel Truth of Christ and His present Kingdom. Thanks for listening.
