Sam and I can disagree sometimes and still be brothers. The only reason why I can see (at least conceptually) the idea that God stands "outside of time" is by virtue of His own declaration as the I AM. God is ever in the present-tense in the sense...

Profile Information

A Little Bit About Me:
I live in Antioch, CA, am the father of three wonderful adult children (April, 26, Allen 24, Jennifer 22). I am a Deputy Sheriff (Reserve), and belong to a Search and Rescue team that specializes in looking for Futurists who have lost their way deep in the wilderness of "yet future" hopes and dreams... I work for a Real Estate Holding company as part of the Property Management Team at a shopping mall (but I do not REALLY like to shop). I am a preterist by day and a sleeping preterist by night...

PRETERISM Debate

EVERYONE is invited to be part of the Preterism Debate site. Since Sharon Nichols closed down her Preterist Debate site (Theology Debate) in order to launch something else later, I opened another Ning community for those who wish to discuss or debate eschatology.

There are no rules or Moderation at this time, but I trust that God is Sovereign and that Christians can discuss issues without insulting one another. If you would not say something if Jesus were standing next to you, then DON'T say it… Continue

Ephesians: An Exegetical Journey

FOR those interested, I have posted the beginnings of an exegetical commentary of the book of Ephesians at Victory Words online. (www.victorywordsonline.com). [For whatever reason, I cannot seem to get the link from here to work properly]

The Internet does not afford one the opportunity to make sure a study exhaustive in scope, however, this study plans to be faithful to the proposition that Paul's discussion is in the context of the revealed "mystery of God" in connection with Jews and Gentile… Continue

Victory Words Podcast

I HAVE POSTED the first Victory Words podcast...(still some technical issues), but I hope this will be the first of a very long run of teaching tools that will draw us into a study of the Word.

The focus of Victory Words is on the positive, practical and powerful principles related to New Covenant living. Preterists sometimes focus on the past, spend a great amount of time and energy on the events of the transition period, or establishing the foundational truth about the position. These program… Continue

STOP STRIVING—START THRIVING!

SOME of the most profound theological concepts come to us from the most unlikely sources and speak to us in powerful ways. Recently, while standing in line at the local Starbucks, I glanced over at a handwritten sign near the front counter, that stopped me in my tracks, because of the simplicity and truthfulness of the message displayed: “Say hello to a brand new day!”

Each one of us who have embraced fulfillment, and have experienced the joy of Accomplished Salvation (Preterism)… Continue

The Admission of Extremes: What Does It Mean?

On KINGDOM VICTORY I just posted a thoughtful article about the need to acknowledge the fact that certain extremes DO exist within the preterist movement. Further, I presented the necessity of having a balanced approach to the Scriptures without the to take a theological "leap" backwards into the hopeless position of Futurism. Here is a brief quote from the article:

The ease with which many are prone to embrace whatever doctrinal notion is preContinue

Larry, I will pray for you.

I would love to join any group you get started, but to warn you, at this time my DH is a free-will futurist and we have been at odds over this for the past 8+ years. I have asked to attend Don's PPW's and have been denied. I keep praying that God will open his eyes like He has mine.

I've mentioned this to others and perhaps even to you... on one hand I wish I'd never heard of preterism but on the other I feel blessed and honored that God would bless me with this truth. God's scriptures have opened up so much more since the revelation.

I have enjoyed your teachings I heard from the PPW's audio. Wish I was going this year.

Let me know what hill and I'll put on my cow suit! Blessings dear brother!

No, Larry they do not. In fact it is a fellowship that believes just about everything opposite of what I do. =( They are free-will futurists that have fallen under the Purpose Driven Church spell. It used to be affiliated with Calvary Chapel but a few years ago went the way PDC. I "attend" with my DH (to keep peace). He has gotten frustrated with the PDC direction but enjoys the fellowship of several men in a small group setting.

I fellowship with a couple of gals who hold the sovereign grace view and after my sharing have come to believe the preterist view.

Do you attend a preterist church? A while back you mentioned "moving". Are you still in the bay area? I like shopping the Broadway Plaza on rare occasion. I love the Brighton store, but need to stay away... lol

Larry,
I know... I know the plaza you work in as well.

I enjoyed your testimony you shared in one of your posts to your blog on your site "Key" part 1. Funny how God sneaks the truth in on us.

I was "saved" in a post-trib church (in the 70's) but am attending a pre-trib church now. Several years ago the pastor was going through Matthew and I decided to "find the truth" to the eschatology question. I'd always been bothered by the "this generations" and all the "soons", etc since becoming a Christian. So I took off the "man's teachings" hat and asked God to show me what was the truth. He showed me what I later found out was called preterism and have been a heretic ever since.

And the more I study the more this view lines up with the scriptures! The scriptures are a beautiful tapestry woven into a blanket of salvation. Hallelujah.

I pray your knee is healing quickly!

Hey Bro,

Sorry you caught me at a bad time. I was threading a pouch robe around a 45 gallon dolly trash bin. Got that? Janitorial talk. We toilet huggers love the late hours so call me in the mid afternoon...that goes for the rest of you non-Draculites......
