Lori I can't make any educated comment here myself as I haven't studied this issue. However, as others have mentioned here, Gal 3:28 is very convincing. But the church that I used to attend has done some research in great detail, and I do in fact…

Hey Alec, This is what I believe at this point, but study on your own. I believe that the prophecies of the book of Revelation have been fulfilled (except that the true church is always being added to). I do not think that we are in the "thousand ye…

I am not saying that I disagree with you and Heidi or with Derrell. I just have not found enough evidence to change my views totally as of yet. I don't consider isolated scriptures as evidence enough to hang my hat on it. The whole of scripture has…

Lori, I do not know if I could disagree with you more on your commentary of Mathew 23:1-12. Jesus was NOT addressing religous traditions per say, because traditions in and of them selves are not wrong. Jesus begins this discourse with the following:…

Came out of the closet....

Major announcement! I just spent an hour or more talking with a friend of our oldest son about preterism and the doctrines of grace. I have never told anyone in person that I believe in preterism (other than Heidi and her son and my husband and 2 sons). She called her youth pastor to ask him a question about a verse and she told him that she was talking with me about preterism. Know what he said? That he had studied about it, but never met one!!! I told her to tell him he is welcome to come over… Continue

In the beginning, was there only Adam and Eve??

This is from another thread, but would really love to hear some feedback on it.....

I really don't understand what exactly covenant creationalism is or isn't. What I do want to ask, is if anyone has ever seen this?? Here goes......

The Garden of Eden (Genesis 2), is real and physical, and a picture of the spiritual New Jerusalem. Look at the word "earth" throughout Genesis 1 and then see how it is replaced with the word "ground" in Genesis 2. Notice what days that the trees, animals, and man… Continue

Urgent prayer request for our son

I would appreciate your prayers for our oldest son, Boone. His primary care dr. diagnosed him with renal (kidney) insufficiency, yesterday. He is having a sonogram done on his kidneys today, a 24 hour urine test, and more blood work. He is almost 18 years old. We see a kidney specialist on April 28th and until then, won't know any answers. Waiting is very hard for me. This area in my life (health) has been a weakness since I was a little girl. I haven't learned how to surrender health issues to… Continue

Let me know, Patrick

Hi Lori, too bad SGP wasn't around when I lived in Canton. We didn't know anyone who believed like us and it would have been nice to have other like-minded folks to fellowship with. I still make occasional trips back to Canton and Woodstock to buy my bread supplies. Herman was offered a job at the hospital in Cartersville but we had already made our move up here. When I travel down that way again, I would love to get together with you if you have time. My brother lives in Cartersville so I was planning on trying to visit with him for a while.
Blessings,
~ Kim ~

Hi Lori, I have changed my opinion on something and wanted to give you an update. On my website I try to interpret the book of Revelation using a different method which I call cross-linking. It sort of forces you to abandon looking at it from a preterist or futurist POV and use internal clues to interpret the order of the visions.

Anyhow...I was working on the interpretation of Ch12, the woman in the wilderness. I have now come to the conclusion that BOTH the resurrection of the OT saints & the martyrs (and well anyone dead in Christ) occured in 66/67 AD at the beginnnig of the tribulation. 70 AD was actually (1) the 'resurrection' of the wicked and their judgment & (2) the marriage of the Lamb & Bride. Also, the Bride in Christ was not the OC Saints...but NC, more specifically probably just the martyrs.

Again, I know this is probably only muddying the waters for you, and I apologize, but I wanted to update you since you had expressed an interest in this view.

Good luck in your quest for the truth!

I meant to say "that all living saints post 70AD go immediately to heaven AT THEIR DEATH..." sorry

Hi Lori, Just wanted to make sure you didn't have any more questions for me, and to clarify one point...

I wanted to make it clear that I believe, as does Dr. Birks, that all living saints post 70AD go immediately to heaven into the presence of God and the Lamb and receive their spiritual bodies. I didn't want you to think that I thought Martydom was the only way to get to heaven.

Basically the Martys from 66-70AD (the last trump) immediatley went to Heaven (without going to a holding area) and received their spiritual body. This was their "catching up" as 1 Thess 4:17 calls it.

John, in his letter the the 7 churches, also says that "those who are faithful unto death," & those that "overcome" would also go to Heaven (Rev 3:21) & receive their spriritual body (Rev 3:5). Therefore, like the martyrs, we are also "raptured" when we die. So in a way 1 Thess 4:17 applies to us, the living believers as well.

Hope I didn't confuse you anymore than I already have.
