I like his "Clarkian" ways / influence. Obviously not a Preterist. But I like his apologetics etc.

I have read parts of Wright's "Resurrection of the ..." book, and he is quoted quite a bit in Preston's new book on Thess. He covers a lot of pro-preterist views, and he even deals with your other question on the whole sheol/hadean realm thing from…

I would like to throw another idea into the mix. In my readings of extra biblical, pseudipigriphal (sp?) writings; the offspring created by the union of angelic beings and women in Gen 6, were a combination of part heavenly, part earthly creatures,…

And to your comment about those between the 40 years, it seems evident that they went to a place under the altar, outside of the holy of holies. The were not sent to the place of the dead (Hades/Sheol) and they were not allowed into heaven until the…

Joseph, What you are saying kind of goes against everything the ancient Jews thought and taught regarding life after death, sheol/hades/paradise. The OT seems clear that to them it was a place, a place Jesus went for three days, a place all people…

Ryan, I think you are getting the right idea. I think most people make way too much out of "today" when Jesus was speaking. When Jesus died he was separated from God's presence and bore the sins of the world as a condemned man. When he died, this s…

I see what you're saying Joseph and I think I have to surrender my original answer, (which, by the way, I only tendered as a possibility to consider, not as a positive answer) though i wouldn't go so far as to call it "ridiculous". I wondered about…

I have heard 2 good arguments. 1. I tell you this day (pause) you will be with me in paradise. Instead of "this day". 2. Look at what it says here... Paradise: according to The KJV New Testament Greek Lexicon the part of Hades which was thought…

Profile Information

A Little Bit About Me:
I have been born on the 7e oktober 1974 in the Netherlands as a depraved son of Adam, saved by God's Sovereign grace and election, by nature being dead in my sins, have been born again by the work of the Spirit of God. Grew up in a Roman Catholic background, and i was always interested in Eastern Religion and spirituality. But by Gods grace, i saw that religion itself only filled my spiritual pride, thinking that through my religious works i could please God, and that i could earn my eternal happiness. By God's grace, i saw that insted of pleasing the Only True Living God, i was worshiping a idol, a god of my own imagination, and so i was completely deceived by my own darked, depraved and sinful understanding. By Gods grace He opened my eyes were i could see that the wrath of God and His judgment was hanging over my life, but by the grace of God also the Glory of the Gospel.
I have been married in 2002 with a very godly wife, Reena, whom loves to sit at the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ and to meditate on His Word.
The Lord God also entrusted us with two wonderfull children, Naomie & Gideon.
Iam a credo-baptist whom holds to the 5 pionts of calvinisme, and my favourite theologions are John Owen, Francis Turretine, Abraham Booth, John Gill, J.C. Philpot, Herman Hoeksema, Greg Bahnsen, and many more calvinistic baptist, reformers and puritans.
Sinds 1 year i have been reading about the preterist view on eschatology, and even though iam still learning, iam convince that it is most in line with the Holy Scriptures. My sincere thanks goes out the the follow brothers: Don Preston, Brain. L. Martin, Jessie E. Mills, Ed Stevens, Kurt Simmons, Tom Kloske and Kelly Nelson Birks for their great materials and answering alot of my questions on this subject.
Preterism has really opening my eyes for the eschatology and how to understand the sayings of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul in the right context.
Here in the Netherlands, i don't know any reformed or conservative baptist church, pastor or theologion whom embraces preterism, so it is for me a priveledge to be a part of your preterist forum site, and i really hope to learn from you all.
Iam very sorry for my bad english gramma, and iam also still a student, so please have patience with me!

"A Reformer is one who seeks to remove abuses which have crept into an organization or community, or one who boldly enters a field where error has held undisputed sway, and fearlessly wields amid giant powers of opposition, the weapons of truth. He aims to entirely revolutionize the minds of the community in which he labors, on that particular subject where he believes reform to he needed. A compromise between truth and error is not what he seeks, and will not satisfy him..." (John Quincy Adams: Baptists - The Only Thorough Reformers)

We traveled through the Netherlands around 1987. One thing i remember most was our visit to Madurodam. That was a COOL place! I've got some old home videos of it somewhere.
