There you go Ron… get labelled something and then it's easy to dismiss what you raise as apparently aberrant; nice dodge.

I should think it is probably semantics i.e., it could be better phrased. Certainly the law was in effect up until AD70 as in it was still in vogue, even Paul submits to certain requirements of it, BUT it carried no redemptive value past the cross...

I think either position pushed to its logical extreme err. As I understand it – man has freewill within the sovereignty of God's will, e.g., I was predestined to have the body I have – how I use it is to a very large degree under my determining. Y...

Joseph: I just don't know if the Bible is very clear as to "what" sort of eternal existence this is...is it eternally tormenting condemnation apart from God in some mysery...or is it utter destruction never to be reversed again...thus being an ete...

Joseph: …I'm not sure if I believe in annihilationism or eternal torment. Since I believe the "lake of fire" is an analogous place, and not a physical place with actual fire, the reference to the judgment in this place does not necessarily have to...

G'day Ralph… as I understand it, IF Satan and other demons were fallen angels i.e., spirit being, then the last we hear of them is 'the lake of fire' – which in my understanding had and has no continuity past its AD70 role in the ending of the old...

As I understand it… Satan only had traction relevant to covenant Israel, and that who or whatever "satan" was understood to be, such came to nought in Israel's "lake of fire" i.e., the AD70 'destruction of Jerusalem'. It would be prêteristically ...

Interesting discussion chaps… If one is saved to good works this logically means one is saved from bad works. "Bad works" however have little to do with one's moral practices etc. Bad works were essentially "dead works" – dead works are simply wo...

To the degree that both Jesus and Paul were under the Hebrew old covenant to that degree they kept the Hebrew Sabbath – your friend is welcome to do the same should he wish… but why stop only at Sabbath keeping as there are a whole raft of laws th...

I guess a few things could be concluded from this above – IF this was what Israel's resurrection was reduced to, then the pattern of resurrection is back into this life AND in mortal bodies, for either all these accounted above were literally rapt...

Joseph… I understand you might not be able to respond as you seem rather busy but I wanted to share a few thoughts as to how I understand these things. Now with regards to dispensationalism, in part you said: "My biggest problem is that if there ...

"If some special kind of logic is required that is not the law of Identity, Excluded Middle and Contradiction, then how can any rational conversation take place? " hmm... "rational conversation" *_* lol ;)

Exactly… whenever it was that people started to use such BC/AD or BCE/CE designations in no way affected the reality of the history Jesus secured, i.e., neither ignorance nor arrogance undoes these things. And as for "Christian" observance days b...

Pardon the pun Victor… but I think some of your conclusions on this issue are a bit shallow. Certainly "BAPTO" and its variants have a broad range of applicable meanings, and THAT'S just the point – as valid as much of the points you've raised are...

Victor: Dr. B. is writing a book on baptism titled “Where’s the Water?” in which he proves Christian baptism in the New Testament, as opposed to the Jewish symbolic baptisms, never require or even suggest water. Victor, how sure are you about thi...

Hey Bob, I've been called a number of things but "an annihilationist" isn't usually one of them, lol. That said though… it is my understanding that where the bible indicates annihilation it speaks to the physicality of man and no further than that...

Davo - I deleted it because I thought it was going toward the universalism route but I may have miosunderstood it. If you can re-call the question you can post post it again. Sorry if I misunderstood the intention. Jason and I may soon "up" it even more here on allowable stuff so just a heads up. We have some future plans on this issues etc. as far as standards that we may post in the near future here.
