Someone on SGP recently said:
" I totally understand your feelings regarding continuing attendance at
your current church. I'm in a similar boat. With all the great preterist
teachings on-line, I don't feel the need to attend our local church,
but I do, out of respect for my still-futurist husband. "
I don't have the time to develop this now, but I need to point out the danger of the above sentiment before the opportunity slips by. The above betrays a very unbiblical understanding of church, the Body of Christ, and the importance of worship. Weekly corporate worship is essential to the Christian life, and to the mission of the Christian Church. It is not about having a weekly opportunity of getting some doctrine into your skull. It's not about everybody driving their brain to a central location so that information can be transmitted from one brain (the pastor's) to all the other brains.
