Sovereign Grace Preterism

I HAVE POSTED the first Victory Words podcast...(still some technical issues), but I hope this will be the first of a very long run of teaching tools that will draw us into a study of the Word.

The focus of Victory Words is on the positive, practical and powerful principles related to New Covenant living. Preterists sometimes focus on the past, spend a great amount of time and energy on the events of the transition period, or establishing the foundational truth about the position. These programs are meant to help us see the connection between the "What Now?" questions we all have about how living in God's presence today can be used to demonstrate the very best He has for our lives.

Enjoy. It is posted here under "Fulfillment-Based Victory 1" as a music file, but is also available by visiting my website:

Larry,

Amazing how you held your own over "there" against the thugs. I wanted to comment on the legitimacy and illegitimacy of "hebrew and greek" mindsets.

It is illegitimate to use this as a way to wedge such a division between "east and west" that Logic, Truth, etc. become "relevancy" issues (that is, what's true for the Hebrew may not be true for the European). This is postmodernism and should be rejected. Clearly, the comments over "there" Larry cannot make such distinctions.

It IS a legitimate issue when one considers that cultures have differing perspectives. I know, I know, we would all like the aboriginies or the Buddhists to think in terms of Western, black tie, white shirt, cut your hair mentality. But, alas, they don't. Fat women are attractive in Africa. Skinny women are deemed ugly and useless. Missionaries constantly deal with "cross cultural" dialogue and problems ("transculturalization"). Sure, the "resurrection of the dead" can be used figuratively (Hebrews and Ezekiel) and literally (Lazurus). The point missed by one of those brilliant comments over "there" is that Hebrews says that Abraham FIGURATIVELY received Isaac back from the DEAD! So, the question for this issue is, which one is the metaphor? Does the PHYSICAL resurrection of Lazuras metaphorically depict a deeper need for a SPIRITUAL resurrection? Or, does the SPIRITUAL resurrection (which Church History has declared a reality "in Christ") merely operate as a metaphorical POINTER to the greater, deeper, yet-unfulfilled reality of PHYSICAL resurrection?

If we follow the pattern of Jesus, the former is true. "beware of the yeast of the Pharisees" said Jesus. His disciples began to say, "it is about bread. We didn't gather enough bread." Jesus said unto them, "Why are you talking about bread?...." (Mark 7.14-ff). Dolts! They looked for the PHYSICAL when Jesus was talking about the SPIRITUAL and he did this often. Therefore, the PHYSICAL resurrection of dead bodies, occuring often in the Bible, is the metaphor, the type, the shadow, the thing that points to the SPIRITUAL need and reality to be BORN AGAIN (not phsyically born again, as Nicodemus said, but SPIRITUALLY born again, using the PHYSICAL birth to ILLUSTRATE the reality of the need for SPIRITUAL birth).

Our hypercreedalist friends just don't get it, being wrapped (and warped) by their Traditions, nullifying the power of God's word. They seek to LIMIT God's salvation by saying, in effect, "yea, we are spiritually raised from the dead, but in the future, God will REALLY apply that salvation to us when we get back our flsehly bodies." We say, "Lord, ALL thy promises are YES AND AMEN....and NOW is the TIME of SALVATION......Praise the Lord!"

Great job, Larry.........keep up the good fight of faith.

Thanks Jason, I hope the material will be beneficial enough to stand alongside the others you have listed there. Some people are doing some really good work these days. If I can have a small part in ministering to the hearts of people about how the preterist message affects believers in a positive manner, then I will have accomplished my purpose and goal in ministry.

Hey Jason, what did you think of the theme song from Degarmo & Key? I used to really like their music back in the day!
